In each country the Medical Credit Fund works with local Technical Assistance partners, local banks and strategic partners.
The Technical Assistance partners are actively involved in promoting the program and in the recruitment of facilities. They perform a major role in their quality improvement process through the provision of technical assistance. These local Technical Assistance partners also ensure linkages with national policies and regulations of the respective governments. A local financial institute is engaged to provide the loans. The loans run through the bank. The Medical Credit Fund holds a strategic partnership with four Dutch partner organizations, such as PharmAccess, AIDS Fonds, De Grote Onderneming and Health Insurance Fund.
It is funded by private grants and investments and is currently raising additional public and private funds to expand the number of loans to 2500 facilities during the next six years. To this end, the Medical Credit Fund is building an elaborate partnership configuration.
