Symposium organized by the Medical Credit Fund for its banking partners in Mombasa, Kenya. The main objective of the symposium was to discuss additional propositions for creating a more steady flow of capital to healthcare facilities to finance growth of operations. The day led to many suggestions and new insights and feed-back of the participants were very positive.

Last month management consultants and VU post graduates of the study Management Consultancy Eric Lagerwey and Patrick van Beukering went to Kenya to focus on the overall growth strategy of the Kisumu Medical and Educational Trust (KMET). KMET is the local partner of the Medical Credit Fund and provides technical assistance to the clinics in the MCF program.

The symposium 'When markets fail; strategies for health, development and investment' focused on new approaches to development and health on October 7th. The symposium was organized by the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development and PharmAccess and was picked up by the second largest Dutch newspaper 'de Volkskrant'.
